Conservation, energy education and the development of renewable energy become exceedingly important. That’s why Green Energy Ohio (GEO) is pleased to announce a new program designed to balance savings on natural gas purchases through pooling strategies with allocating portions of cash flow for GEO’s mission and renewable energy investment opportunities.
GEO’s Energy Program (AGES) has three main objectives:
- The first objective is to help purchases of natural gas to save on their purchases through partnership with Alternative Gas & Electric Solutions LLC (AGES) and Interstate Gas Supply (IGS).
- Second, promote conservation and energy education to program participants:

1. Purchase natural gas at a discounted rate in partnership with Alternative Gas & Electric Solutions LLC (AGES) and Interstate Gas Supply (IGS):
The program is designed to help save on your natural gas bill by utilizing the strength of group buying. By grouping together, AGES can leverage our buying power to shop the market and secure the best deals possible for you. We anticipate a savings of approximately 5% for you.
The independent energy professionals of AGES, on behalf of the GEO, will obtain the best price for natural gas from IGS Energy, a reputable supplier with almost 20 years of experience. IGS Energy is certified by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) and is already serving over 700,000 customers in Ohio and across the Midwest.
Alternative Gas & Electric Solutions LLC (AGES) is Ohio owned and operated by the Palmer Energy Company. Since 1980, Palmer Energy has provided independent energy management and consulting to business, governmental and institutional clients from its Toledo, Ohio office.
2. Promote conservation and energy education to program participants:
The GEO program will provide energy conservation tips and valuable statewide information through a monthly newsletter sent via email. It will also be made available on Green Energy’s website. Green Energy Ohio is committed to provide education designed to move energy use in greener directions.
3. Invest in a green energy future for Ohio:
The program provides direct funding for Green Energy Ohio to continue its mission of promoting energy conservation and renewable energy development across the state. Thus, it gives GEO members a further opportunity to support GEO while reducing their gas bills.
Additionally, Palmer Energy, in consultation with GEO, has committed to dedicate a portion of profits to support renewable energy project developments in Ohio. The focus will be on those projects that would normally not occur.
“Going Green” is much more than a buzz phrase. It is a gradual step-by-step process requiring planning, strategies and careful implementation. International energy challenges continue to evolve and influence our homes and local business needs. GEO is not immune to these issues either.
We believe this program supports our commitment to renewable energy development and usage within Ohio. It is consistent with our vision by providing energy conservation education and promoting the use and development of renewables in Ohio. And it helps GEO meet its long-term financial needs.
